Frequently Asked Questions

What if my photo is too large to upload?  If you try to upload the photo and it is too large, you will be told that the image is too large and will be asked to upload a smaller photo.  Try cropping the picture first, to include only the face and hair.  After cropping the photo, if it is still too large (over 512 KB), reduce the resolution and upload it again, but don't reduce the image more than necessary.  A good clear photo makes the best doll.

What kind of photo works best?  A good clear forward facing head shot with all of the hair showing is best.  No hats or objects covering any of the face or hair.  The photo should have only the child that you want the doll made of so that you don't get the wrong person on the doll.

What if I send in a photo that does not work well?    We do not want the name Magnetic Me on an inferrior product.  If the photo is not a satisfactory quality to produce a good doll, you will be contacted and asked to send another photo. 

How long will it take to get my order?  Orders will be processed in the order received, as quickly as possible.  If ordered on the Magnetic Me website, your order will be shipped within 2 weeks of uploading a satisfactory photo (Most orders will be shipped in 3 - 5 days).  If ordered by printed postal order form, it will take additional time for checks to clear. 

If I order additional pages of outfits later will the flesh tones match?  Yes, login to Magnetic-Me.com under the same name as your original order, when prompted for a child's name on the order, be sure to use the name you had put on your original order.

What if I am ordering the doll as a gift and do not know the age of the child?  The age does not have to be printed on the doll.  If you don't know, just leave the space blank where you are asked for the age.  If the child is older than the photo, it is best to use the age they were at the time the photo was taken. 

How do I take care of my Magnetic Me doll?  The dolls and clothes are laminated on the front surface, so they can be wipped off with a damp cloth.  Do not soak them, but if they do get wet, wipe them off.  Store them flat so they will not be folded.  The laminated magnetic material is much more durable than paper or cardboard, so they should last and make great keep-sakes.
